Engineering Competitions

Engineering Competitions are of growing importance for BEST. A few years ago we only had a handful of such competitions each year, but now almost every BEST Group is having at least one such event every year. We believe that Competitions are an interesting, fun and creative way for students to test their skills and develop aside their “normal” academic curriculum.

Local Engineering Competitions

Those competitions are held by Local BEST Groups, and are made up out of students of the local university. They differ in size, difficulty and length, but they all utilize creative ways of solving interesting problems and teamwork. For companies they offer an easy way to get into contact with students in the same country or city. They are also the first round of EBEC, the European BEST Engineering Competition.

Central European BEST Engineering Competition

The winners of the local rounds (LECs) in Central Europe compete at this event. ceBEC is probably the biggest event BEST is organising in Central Europe, and one of the biggest in all of BEST. Up to 11 BEST groups send two teams to this competition, and the students compete not only in the Team Design (TD) category, they also have to solve challenging Case Studies (CS) supplied by our corporate partners. To make this event even more interesting for our participants we also offer trainings in soft-skills for them. This years ceBEC will last 5 days and will be held in the beautiful city of Brno. On the last day of ceBEC the participants and local students will have the opportunity to learn more about our partners during our ceBEC-Jobfair.

The two winning teams will compete in EBEC, the European BEST Engineering Competition.

European BEST Engineering Competition

This is the third and last round of EBEC. Europes best young engineerings come together, and each team comes to prove itself competing with all  the other winners of the second rounds for almost two weeks. This event is the culmination of over 80 singular competitions held in BEST in this year, and is an excellent opportunity for companies to scout for the most promising talents in Europe.
